Banda Jiló

Banda Jiló plays “forró” a popular music style from the Northeast of Brazil.
Often described as the “country music” of Brazil this music style is hugely popular in Brazil, thanks to artist like Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Fagner and Gilberto Gil.

The infectious grooves of forró inspire even the most reluctant audiences to dance and the skillful players in the band take the music to its highest level. Banda Jiló has performed in venues and festivals all over the Northeastern region of the US.

We can provide the traditional instrumentation: accordion, zabumba [a large handheld drum] and triangle or a fuller band that includes also guitar, bass and drum set.
